On Monday 20th November students in Year 11 took part in our second annual Revision Conference. Led by some of the school’s most experienced teachers, students were given the opportunity to work with a range of other people from their house.
In a packed programme of events students were shown motivational videos, strategies for dealing with the daily distractions of teenage life, coping with exam stress and numerous interactive revision techniques. (All of which are now available on the school website by following this link.) They were also given vital information about the formal examination process.
The goodie bag of useful items went down well, particularly the Oreo biscuits which helped sustain energy levels until break time. Armed with this wealth of resources the students are now fully equipped to begin their preparations for their Pre Public Examinations in December.
“It was brilliant to see the students engaging with the revision materials. They took on board the key messages that for revision to be successful it needs to be active, form a regular part of their studies and that they should focus on filling their learning gaps.”
Mrs Tonks, Deputy Headteacher for Student Progress.
