From 15th – 18th October, 34 students, along with Mrs Hill, Mrs Day and Mr Hargreaves had an excellent time on the school trip to Paris.
After a long journey, the group were glad to enjoy a campfire complete with marshmallow toasting on the first night. Fully rested the next day we headed to Paris where we enjoyed a boat trip along the Seine and visited the Sacré Coeur where students enjoyed the sights, taking photos and using their French to do a spot of shopping. We finished the evening with a tour of Paris by night, stopping at the Eiffel Tower to watch it sparkle.
Our next day was equally full, with a visit to the typically French ‘Melun’ market, where again Mrs Hill was especially pleased to see students using their French to chat to locals when buying presents. In the afternoon, we visited Château Fontainebleau which did not disappoint. Of course, we then had the obligatory trip to the hypermarket in the evening.
On our way home, we squeezed in a visit to Arras and soaked up our last bit of French culture.
Mrs Hill would like to take the opportunity to thank Mrs Day and Mr Hargreaves for their support in the trip, but most of all thank you to our students who really did make the most of the experience and who represented The Wilnecote School brilliantly.
