Homework

Information

At The Wilnecote School we recognised the importance of homework in developing students’ knowledge and skills beyond the classroom.  The setting of regular, meaningful homework will help each child to make good progress towards succeeding in their examinations.  We have therefore devised a homework time table for each year group.  This homework timetable will help students organise and plan their week and allow parents/guardians to better support their child with their work outside of school.
Year 7
Additional Notes
  • Students in year 7 are expected to spend approximately an hour per night on homework.
  • In some subjects a longer project or extend piece of homework may be set. In this case the homework will be broken down into short term goals to allow students to manage their time.
  • Subjects providing homework on a non-designated day will give 7 days for homework to allow enough time for students to plan their work load.
  • In addition to set homework it is expected that each student reads for 10 -30 mins a night.
