Starting this week the Junior Leadership Team have organised a week of events in aid of Children in Need. On Thursday there will be The Great Pudsey Bake Off outside the old house tutors (Mr Adams and Mrs Hartle’s offices). Any students or teacher who would like to sign up please come to the conference room (near the old house tutors) on Tuesday at form time. On Friday we will hold a ‘Splat the Teacher’ where students will get the chance to throw a pie at the teachers. The event will be in the theatre at form time. Tickets will be priced at £1 and an extra strip of raffle tickets will cost 50P. The event is limited availability so make sure you get your tickets. From Tuesday to Friday Children in Need merchandise will be sold outside the old house tutors where you can also get your cakes and tickets on certain dates.
Welcome to The Wilnecote School
It is with real pleasure that I welcome you to The Wilnecote School, a school with a long and proud history in the local community and which also looks to its future with excitement. No website or prospectus, however glossy, can tell you everything you need to know about a school but I would like to introduce you to a school full of committed professionals with wide experience and a passion for helping children to achieve their very best in every context. It is a school with ambition and on the cusp of something special.
I am personally committed to continuing to improve the educational experience and academic outcomes of all our children. If you were to ask me to distil my own vision for them I would borrow the words of the late Daphne Park, Principal of Somerville College, Oxford,
“The qualities which I would wish for them are courage, stamina, intellectual curiosity, the desire for excellence, an adventurous spirit and above all an abiding belief in the decency of human beings.”
I know that The Wilnecote School can provide all these things and more.
